AI2050 Project
AI is rapidly becoming our shared cognitive infrastructure. Each of us can benefit tremendously from AI’s capabilities — but what does this do to our collective intelligence? Raghavan’s project studies how widespread reliance on AI systems may reshape institutions like markets, democracy, science, and journalism. When many people depend on the same models, their judgments may become less independent, increasing the risk of shared blind spots and correlated errors. They will develop new ways to measure these risks and redesign evaluation standards to reward diversity and complementary insights, helping ensure that AI strengthens rather than undermines society’s collective intelligence.
